Media monitoring for B2B brands

On Agentcy Pro and Enterprise, media monitoring finds online articles that mention your brand and logs each one as coverage, with its tier, tone and estimated reach. On Free and Core you add coverage yourself.

Media monitoring is how a PR team knows what's been written about it. On Pro, Agentcy finds online articles that name your brand and logs each one as coverage, so the month's report has mostly built itself by the time you sit down to write it.

What gets checked

Before a piece counts, Agentcy checks it isn't your own press release, a syndicated copy of something already logged, or a page that mentions you only in passing. Spam and low-quality sites go to a separate list you can look through.

What gets logged

Each piece is logged with its publication, journalist, tier, tone and estimated views, and linked to the journalist's record in the CRM. Logged coverage feeds coverage reports and the executive dashboard your board opens by link.

On Free and Core

You log coverage yourself. The free plan takes pasted links or a spreadsheet, up to 30 pieces a month, and Core adds AI Quick Add from a link, up to 100. Pro is unlimited, and monitored.

What it doesn't cover

Media monitoring covers online media only. Social mentions come under social listening on Core and Pro. For the news about your sector, see news intelligence.

Pro is $1,200/month for five seats, with media monitoring included.

Which Agentcy plans include media monitoring?

Media monitoring is on Agentcy Pro and Enterprise, where online coverage of your brand is found and logged for you with no monthly limit. On the free plan you add coverage yourself by pasting links or uploading a spreadsheet, up to 30 pieces a month. Core adds AI Quick Add, which logs a piece from its link, up to 100 pieces a month. You can move up to Pro from your billing page in any month.

What counts as coverage?

Agentcy counts an online article as coverage when it's about your brand or names it in a way a reader would notice. Before a piece is logged, Agentcy checks that it isn't your own press release, a syndicated copy of a piece you already have, or a page that mentions you only in passing. Spam and low-quality sites go to a separate list on the Coverage page, so you can check what was left out. Each logged piece links to the journalist's record in the CRM.

Can I bring in coverage I already have?

Agentcy imports past coverage from a spreadsheet on any plan, the free one included, and enriches each piece. Imported pieces sit in the coverage tracker beside the new ones, so a report or a quarter's trend can run back to before you signed up. Contact lists import the same way into the journalist CRM, where they're enriched too.

Does it monitor print, broadcast or social media?

Agentcy's media monitoring covers online media, not print or broadcast. Social mentions are a separate feature, social listening, which comes with social stats and LinkedIn post planning on Core and Pro. Pro adds influencer intelligence, which is in beta. Teams that need print and broadcast clippings can keep a suite such as Meltwater or Cision for those, and the Meltwater alternatives page compares them.

Does it cover languages other than English?

Agentcy monitors English-language online media in B2B technology, and no other languages. Teams that need other markets covered can keep a suite such as Meltwater or Cision for those and run Agentcy beside it. Coverage logged by hand can come from any publication, so a piece in another language can still go into your report.
