News intelligence for B2B PR teams

News intelligence is Agentcy reading your sector's news for you. Every online article is scored for relevance to your brand and grouped into stories, and the Morning Briefing email arrives before the day starts with what moved overnight.

The newsfeed

Most news feeds hand you everything and leave the sorting to you. Here each article gets a relevance band for your brand, from Top down to Low, judged against your brand record, so the more you record about what you sell and who buys it, the sharper the feed gets.

Stories

Articles about the same event are grouped into one story with an outlet count and a status of Breaking, Building, Peaked or Fading. Building is when to offer a comment, and on Core you can draft one from any article. The drafting page covers the rest.

The Morning Briefing

The Morning Briefing email arrives before the day starts, with the stories that moved in your sector overnight and your most relevant articles. It comes on every plan, the free one included.

Competitors

Your competitors sit in the same feed as you, so a story they got into and you missed shows up the same morning.

News intelligence covers online media in English. For your own coverage, found and logged for the monthly report, see media monitoring.

News intelligence for one brand costs nothing. Core is $269/month for three seats.

What's the difference between news intelligence and media monitoring?

News intelligence is about your sector's news, and media monitoring is about your own coverage. News intelligence reads the articles your buyers and journalists are reading, so you can spot a story worth commenting on. Media monitoring finds the articles that mention your brand and logs them as coverage for your report. Agentcy includes news intelligence on every plan, the free one included, and media monitoring on Pro and Enterprise.

What's in the Morning Briefing?

The Morning Briefing is an email that arrives before the day starts with the stories that moved in your sector overnight and your most relevant articles. Each story shows how many outlets carry it and whether it's Breaking, Building, Peaked or Fading. It's written against your agreed brand record, so it leads with what matters to your buyers and your messaging. It comes on every plan, including the free one.

When should I comment on a story?

A story marked Building is the one to comment on, because more outlets are picking it up and journalists are still looking for voices. Agentcy marks each story Breaking, Building, Peaked or Fading, and a Peaked story is one that no new outlets are picking up. On Core and Pro you can draft a newsjack comment from any article in the newsjack studio, with 30 drafts a month on Core and no limit on Pro. The spokesperson approves the quote by link before you pitch it.

Does it cover languages other than English?

Agentcy's news intelligence reads English-language online media in B2B technology, and no other languages. It doesn't read print or broadcast either. Teams that need other markets covered can keep a suite such as Meltwater or Cision for those and run Agentcy beside it. The Meltwater alternatives page compares the options.

How does it decide what's relevant?

Agentcy scores every article against your brand record, the objectives, messaging, buyers, topics and competitors you agreed at onboarding. Each article gets a relevance band from Top down to Low, so the feed opens on what matters to you. The more you record about what you sell and who buys it, the sharper the bands get. You can change the record at any time, and the feed follows it.

Try it on one brand, free

You can set up one brand in an afternoon and see what it finds. Paid plans are monthly, and you can stop whenever you like.
